One man in west Cork whose had enough of illegal dumping in his area took things into his own hands and delivered some karma to one perpetrator.
A minimum of four bags of rubbish were left littered on the Bandon Bypass on Monday. The bags were tied lazily which resulted in the rubbish blowing all over the road.
However, the fly-tipper made one very crucial mistake in leaving several letters that had their full name and address, with one local being quick to respond.
Attention was brought to the incident by a member of the Innishannon & Bandon Notice Board Facebook page which posted pictures of the litter alongside another picture of the bags being “carefully returned” to their owner's doorstep.
They did not, however, bother to tie the bags up properly.
People were praising the actions of the person who cleaned up the rubbish and brought the fly-tipper some justice, commenting under the post: "That was the right thing to do. Would love to have seen their face when they opened the front door!"
Another added: "An absolute disgrace dumping that rubbish. You did the right thing on landing it at their home."
If you are out and about in Cork and you come across fly-tipping - you can report it on the Cork County Council Litter Hotline.
CorkBeo reports that this is the latest in a string of incidents, with a resident in Schull recently discovering rubbish thrown in ditches while off out for a stroll and another North Cork local sharing bags of cans dumped on a footpath.
