It may be amusing that after years of constructing the Leith trams, construction workers involved still don't know how to spell 'Leith' but some locals have slammed the cost of these careless mistakes.
The new signage has not been unveiled yet, but stands near the Omni Centre and across the road from the St James Quarter.
Showing the new tram route on a huge map for commuters, Leith has somehow been misspelt.
One resident told Edinburgh Live: "These Omni yet to be unwrapped maps look great, and they’d be even better if someone looked up how to spell Leith.
"Come on guys, it’s taxpayers’ money - proofread away!"
They added: "I hate to diss my wonderful city but that’s just embarrassing."
This comes less than a week after Edinburgh Live reported there was already a pothole on a newly installed Leith Walk cycle path that has undergone a huge amount of work in preparation for the trams extension.

The Trams to Newhaven project, which runs through Leith Walk and Broughton Street among other areas, has caused traffic, bus diversions and community frustrations along Leith Walk as development have been ongoing since November 2019.
Running down Leith Walk from the city centre, the new three-mile route is beginning to take shape and is set to open at some point in Spring 2023.
A spokesperson for the City of Edinburgh Council confirmed that a spelling mistake on the new Wayfinding totems has been identified and will be rectified.
