A Dublin café set up for women in recovery is having its official launch tonight in order to provide women who have overcome substance abuse with alternative ways to socialise.
Ballyfermot Star, a support service for drug users and their families, are hosting the launch of the Women’s Recovery Café tonight. Various women who have overcome substance abuse issues, representatives from local support services and politicians will be in attendance.
Sunniva Finlay, CEO of Ballyfermot Star, explains that women who recover from substance abuse often can’t meet up in venues that offer alcohol and other triggers. She hopes that the Women’s Recovery Café will allow individuals to make connections in a safe and supportive setting.
