Lobster diner claims his Facebook challenge was 'haunted' after it moved as he ate it

A man claimed his lobster dinner was "haunted" after it started moving when he tucked into the dish.

Adrian Shann, 32, said the dead lobster "twitched and moved" on his plate as he tried to crack open its shell to get to the white meat inside.

The hairdresser, from Hull, East Yorkshire, believes the sea creature was "possessed" and must have been haunting him.

Adrian captured the moment on Facebook Live where he filmed himself devouring a full lobster he had bought in Hull for £13.

He wanted to film it after seeing a challenge online where people eat lobsters and crabs, reports Hull Live.

"I've never had lobster before and I was curious to try it," he said.

"I boiled it for around 20 minutes and then went on Facebook Live. I didn't notice until I watched the video back that it was moving.

"I started to feel very paranoid and didn't realise it was moving. I asked myself, is there something wrong with it?

"Do lobsters even die when they are boiled? I thought it was horrible when I'd gone to grab a knife and then I saw it staring at me."

Adrian claims that the lobster was already broken and cooked when he bought it from the shop.

He is still left puzzled and believes it will haunt him.

The video does show the lobster moving after brief contact with his hand as well as the lobster claw during eating, but Adrian claims he never touched it.

He said: "I'd never eaten lobster before and will certainly not be eating it again. It did look nice at the time though.

"But when I cooked it, it smelt sappy and it even had red eggs inside it.

"I would never have it again. I feel something must have been wrong with it."

Adrian says he felt "sick" after watching the video back.

He said: "I felt that this lobster was part of a ritual and I was possessed by it.

"I now just feel physically sick. If you get boiled, surely you would die.

"My friends and family say it's just strange. It's worse for me because I ate it.

"I just hope people could have tried it as well so they could understand what I meant. I'm a hairdresser, not Derek Acorah."

Some fish and molluscs are said to move even after death, appearing to be "alive".

Dead fish will continue to move around until they use up all their energy stores.

They are not alive at this stage or in any pain.

Other incidents of dead fish moving have been caught on camera.

No fish or crustaceans will move after being cooked.
