Bruno Guimaraes has urged Newcastle United fans to vote for Miguel Almiron as the Premier League's Player of the Month for October. The South American duo along with Kieran Trippier have all been named on the eight-man shortlist for the award.
Almiron is the likely favourite for the award following a sensational goalscoring run for Eddie Howe's side. Having previously struggled for end product, the Paraguay international scored six times in a month as the Magpies enjoyed a near perfect return from their October fixtures.
The 28-year-old's streak began with a double in the victory at Fulham, including a remarkable outside-of-the-boot volley to open the scoring. Almiron followed this up by capitalising on an Ethan Pinnock error to round David Raya during the 5-1 rout of Brentford at St James' Park.

Newcastle were held to a goalless draw at Manchester United in their next outing, but Almiron found his shooting boots once again to beat Jordan Pickford with the only goal of the game in the win over Everton. The former MLS star netted another four days later with what proved to be another winning goal in the statement 2-1 victory at Tottenham.
Howe's side rounded out October by cruising to a 4-0 win over Aston Villa on the back of a dominant second-half display, during which Almiron scored the final goal with a whipped long-range effort. It means the right winger's total for the season now stands at seven strikes, just one shy of his best ever return in black-and-white.
Guimaraes and Trippier have also impressed during Newcastle's fine run of form, but the former insists it is Almiron who is more deserving of the award. The Brazil international took to social media shortly after the shortlist was announced on Thursday to call upon supporters to back his team-mate.
He wrote: "Very proud to be running for the best of the month again, but I wanted to ask you to vote from [sic] Miggy. Even if me and @trippier2 are doing well, Miggy is living his dreams."
