Liverpool should prioritise a transfer move for Newcastle United star Joelinton over Chelsea contract rebel Mason Mount. That is the view of Dietmar Hamann, who believes Jurgen Klopp's side need the 'physical presence' the Brazilian would provide.
Joelinton has enjoyed his best season in a black-and-white shirt, with memories of his stint as a struggling striker now a distant memory. The former record signing has shone in both central midfield and from the left flank, with eight goals and three assists to his name ahead of the final-day visit to Chelsea.
The Blue have endured a dismal campaign, and look set to lose academy graduate Mount as he enters the final year of his contract. Recent reports suggest Manchester United have emerged as the favourites to sign the England international, although Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked.

Klopp is expected to oversee a major rebuild on Merseyside this summer, with Europa League football on the horizon following a difficult season. Hamann does not believe Liverpool could tempt Joelinton away this summer, but believes the 26-year-old is the ideal candidate to bolster the Reds' midfield.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder told Casinos En Ligne: "I would not pay the money that Chelsea wants for Mason Mount. I think the players in midfield are very similar in their technical ability, Liverpool need a bit more of a physical presence.
"Joelinton from Newcastle United has that physical presence that Liverpool needs, he can nick a goal too. Alexis Mac Allister will be a brilliant signing, but they'll have to battle Manchester City for his signature.
"I can't see Joelinton leaving Newcastle because he is playing Champions League football next season, but a player with his stature and physicality would be great in that Liverpool midfield."
