Sadio Mane has taken to social media to share scenes from Senegal’s victory parade following their Africa Cup of Nations triumph.
The Senegalese overcame Egypt in Sunday’s final on penalties, with Liverpool star Mane converting with the winning spot kick after the game finished goalless after 120 minutes.
The 29-year-old showed great character after seeing his first half penalty saved by Pharaohs goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal.
Senegal were treated to a hero’s welcome upon returning from the tournament with their first AFCON title, as thousands of fans took to the streets of Dakar to celebrate.

Mane shared some of the jubilant scenes with a message on his Instagram account.
‘Any better feeling!!! Incredible, never seen it before, really proud moments.’ Wrote the Reds forward.
Moments after Sunday’s showpiece Mane consoled Anfield teammate and Egypt captain Mohamed Salah , assuring his colleague that he would have opportunities to win the tournament in the future.
“I told him that he remains a very great player and it’s a pleasure to play for the same club,” He said to beIN SPORTS via Metro .
“I have so much respect for him and he gave everything for his country.
“Unfortunately, he didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean it’s over for him.
“I also told him that he still has many things to win, including the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. They have a young team so maybe they will win it one day.”
