Liverpool 'want to hold on' to defender Sepp van den Berg until much later in the transfer window, if recent reports are anything to go by.
The Dutch international has been heavily linked with a loan move this summer with a number of Championship clubs battling for his signature. According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Sheffield United and Watford have all expressed a desire to sign him.
However, with injuries mounting for Jurgen Klopp, the article adds the Merseyside club may look a keep a hold of him a little bit longer amid concerns over a groin problem.

Defender Ibrahima Konate is already sidelined with a knee problem he picked up in the 3-0 friendly defeat to Strasbourg a couple of weeks ago. Matip also sat out of Friday's training session as precaution with a groin injury, although it remains to be seen whether he makes the squad for Monday night's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
Having spent 18 months on loan at Preston North End in the Championship, Van den Berg has unsurprisingly attracted plenty of interest this summer. Defender Nat Phillips has also been eyed by a number of clubs, although injuries are reportedly putting his future on hold too.
After Konate picked up an injury, manager Klopp admitted it will impact outgoing transfers. “Yeah, probably,” the boss said. “It will influence the transfers – outgoing transfers – I would say.”
If the reports are to be believed, the futures of Phillips and Van den Berg will be decided right at the end of the window as Liverpool continue to assess their mounting injury crisis.
