As things stand, next season will be Mohamed Salah's sixth and final one in a Liverpool shirt as he enters the final year of his contract.
And as Salah approaches the end of his deal, the chatter among Reds fans is increasingly about the prospect of having to sign a replacement for the Egyptian and wondering who could come in and fill his goalscoring boots.
Of course, Liverpool's first choice would be to secure the services of the man who has won three Golden Boots and two PFA Player of the Year awards during his five years on Merseyside, but what if they can't? Like Sadio Mane showing with his move to Bayern Munich, Salah may simply want to embark on a new challenge.
There is a common theme with Liverpool in the transfer market and that is to buy young players with high ceilings and Jurgen Klopp is then able to make them into the world class stars they are today. See Salah, Mane and Roberto Firmino as examples of this. Could the same be done for Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka?

With two years left on his contract at the Emirates, speculation is starting to hot up on whether Saka could look to move on in order to seek out his dream of playing regular Champions League football. He is a boyhood Arsenal fan, but is that enough to keep a player from achieving his dreams?
It is well known Klopp is a huge admirer of the 20-year-old and reportedly tried to snap him up before he signed his first professional contract with Arsenal. Watching him play, it is obvious he is of the player profile that Liverpool look for when signing a new star.
It came to light at the end of last season that Liverpool and Manchester City were watching the situation of Saka closely in case he decided it was time to move on after Arsenal failed to secure Champions League football. A move by either club will not be made this summer, but next summer is a possibility - especially if he was to enter the final year of his current deal.
Liverpool could offer Saka something City couldn't and that is more time out on the pitch. He would have to battle at Anfield to cement a starting spot out on that right side if Salah was to leave, but Klopp would be able to nurture him into a world-class talent in time.
With Mane's departure came the arrival of Darwin Nunez, a hungry 22-year-old who is desperate to prove himself on the biggest stages of them all.
It's a situation Liverpool may well have to repeat next summer.
