Liverpool player ratings as Takumi Minamino and James Milner impress vs Norwich

Alisson Becker 7

Cold for most the game and no chance with Rupp strike, then fine save to deny Rowe.

James Milner 8

Playing at right-back, saw plenty of the ball first half and few issues defensively. Enthusiasm rubbed off on team-mates.

Joe Gomez 6

Looked assured and drew applause from crowd with one strong tackle on Placheta. Escaped after a couple of iffy passes, though, and didn’t close down Rupp for Norwich goal.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Kept things simple and used the ball sensibly when required. Strength ensured Norwich’s sorties rarely threatened.

Kostas Tsimikas 7

Deliveries paved way for first two goals and competed strongly down the left both in attack and defence. Decent.

Jordan Henderson 7

Dominated the midfield with some forceful passing and involved in build-up to opener. Subbed.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 6

Dragged one shot wide from range first half but otherwise was pretty peripheral. Better after the interval and struck outside of post with one effort.

Curtis Jones 7

Clipped the top of the bar with a curling effort early on and very confident in possession. Subbed.

Takumi Minamino 9

Playing on the right, bright from the first whistle and always looked to get involved, and took his two first-half goals very well. Pestered Norwich throughout.

Divock Origi 6

Barely involved, then showed the composure and presence of mind to calmly set up Minamino for the first. Kept plugging away second half. Subbed.

Diogo Jota 6

Only fleeting glimpses of goal first half but quite willing to put in the hard yards. After break had one goalbound shot blocked and wayward with header. Booked and subbed.

Harvey Elliott (for Jones 46) 7

One shot at Krul and buzzed around in midfield.

Tyler Morton (for Henderson 61) 6

Tough going for the teenager in the defensive midfield role.

Luis Diaz (for Jota 84)

Just enough time for the Colombian to go close with a curler.

Sadio Mane (for Origi 84)

Refreshed the attack in the closing minutes.
