According to the report, Porto have rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Diaz.
Liverpool have been linked with the Colombia international, who has a £67m release clause in his contract.
The same source previously reported that Spurs were looking to sign Diaz this month but are not prepared to pay that much.
And it has now been claimed that Porto have knocked back Tottenham’s approach for the 25-year-old, meaning the Reds could still be in with a shout should they choose to move in the summer.

According to the report, AC Milan are in talks to sign Thiaw from Schalke, but are facing opposition from Liverpool.
It has been claimed that there is 'strong competition' from the Reds for the signing of the centre-back, who has impressed in the German second tier this season.
The report goes on to say despite that, Milan are pressing ahead to try and get the deal done this month.
Thiaw is being regarded as one of the best young defensive prospects in Germany following his performances for Schalke.

According to the report, Araujo has rejected a fresh contract offer from Barcelona, potentially handing Liverpool a boost.
The Reds have been linked with the Uruguay international, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of next season.
And the report claims that Liverpool, as well as Chelsea and Manchester United, are all tracking Araujo’s situation and are on 'high alert' after this latest development.
The report also adds that the Reds are more than happy to pay Araujo the wages he's chasing, after it was claimed that the 22-year-old wants a pay increase with an extension at the Nou Camp.
