Liverpool next six Premier League fixtures compared to Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea

The battle for Champions League football next season has become clearer for Liverpool after Newcastle United edged out Wolves.

A two-point gap was installed by the Magpies after Miguel Almiron secured the points at St James' Park. They leapfrogged the Reds as a result of their win after Jurgen Klopp's side were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth.

Elsewhere in the Premier League over the weekend, Tottenham Hotspur bridged their gap with Liverpool to six points thanks to their 3-1 win and a draw for 10-man Manchester United moved them eight points clear in third.

A win for Eddie Howe's side sees the Reds slip to sixth in the Europa Conference League place. However, their position is still precarious as Roberto De Zerbi's side have two games in hand over the Anfield club with the points difference at just three points.

They dropped points this weekend against Leeds United as the Whites secured a late point in their 2-2 draw. Fulham's European aspirations were knocked after league leaders, Arsenal, brushed them aside.

Graham Potter's week got better as they made it three wins in three across all competitions. The Londoners inflicted further misery on former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as Leicester City swim agonisingly close to the drop zone.

Here's how Liverpool's next six league fixtures compare to those in and around the European places.
