Liverpool are now eight points off the Champions League places as Newcastle United earned their revenge over Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp's side will want to forget this weekend quickly as their second-half demise was pounced upon by Manchester City's ruthless attacking prowess. It was a nightmare return to Premier League action as they were brushed aside by the Citizens and later in the day, they saw both Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford leapfrog them.
Greater emphasis falls on Liverpool's upcoming games as they come up against Chelsea and an in-form Arsenal who are looking to create daylight between themselves and Pep Guardiola's side.
