The LFC Foundation has revealed that over £1m has been raised from the two legends matches played at Anfield over the past year.
The Reds have welcomed sides made up of Manchester United and Celtic greats over the past 12 months, and it has now been confirmed that an incredible £1,450,000 was raised as a result of both fixtures taking place.
The announcement was made with the help of local schoolchildren during the half-time break at the Reds dedicated 'Community Day' fixture against Brentford this evening. In recognition of the LFC Foundation’s 20th anniversary, the matchday was also used to showcase the fantastic work the charity delivers every day of every week in local communities across Merseyside and beyond.
