It was not a busy deadline day for Brentford, despite managing to complete the signing of Christian Eriksen on a six-month contract running until the end of the season.
Many fans on social media vented their frustrations, with some believing the Bees needed a new right wing-back and forward, particularly with Marcus Forss leaving for Championship side Hull City on loan.
Nonetheless, it hasn't stopped manager Thomas Frank coming in for praise from a footballing legend.
Speaking exclusively, Liverpool hero John Barnes thinks the Dane is performing wonders at Brentford and that his new contract is well deserved.
"He’s doing an absolutely brilliant job at Brentford - they would have been favourites to go down. That’s not to say that they won’t be dragged in late in the season, but that’s to be expected," said Barnes.
"With what they have, you can’t ask for much more and that’s why Frank’s been rewarded with a new contract.
"The name of the game is to maintain their position in the Premier League. The harmony’s good and the belief is good, so it’s well deserved."
Barnes also revealed his delight in seeing Christian Eriksen back in football and deciding to restart his career in the Premier League
"I’m happy to be seeing Christian Eriksen playing football again regardless of where it is. His situation was bigger than football. He’ll give Brentford something else," added Barnes.
"We don’t know how fit he is, we don’t know how impactful he’ll be, but from a personal point of view I’m glad to see him resuming his career."
