Conor Coady has admitted Wolves will try and make it as hard as possible for Manchester City to get into their stride and win at Molineux on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola's side could take another step towards winning their fourth Premier League title in five seasons with victory in the West Midlands. This is after the Citizens secured a thumping 5-0 success over Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The win saw them move three points clear of Liverpool after the Reds drew 1-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. However, Jurgen Klopp's side have the opportunity to move back to the top if they beat Aston Villa by more than four goals on Tuesday.
It it poised to be a dramatic fortnight in the battle to lift the title and Wolves could play a massive part in who wins it given they still have to face both teams before the end of the season. But with City up first, captain Coady has outlined his side's approach to the game against Guardiola's men.
He told talkSPORT : "Defending as well as we can, being compact, being together and staying in the game for as long as possible. I think a lot of teams other than the top two will say the same thing because they are so hard to come up against.
"It is so hard to get the ball off them at times. You want to go into every game to keep the ball and have as much possession as you can, but I think you understand the situation when you're going up against two of the best teams in the world.
Will Manchester City win the Premier League this season? Let us know in the comments below!
"Sometimes you may have to play a different way, you have to be resilient, you have to be determined, compact and defend properly. When you do have the ball, try and effect the game as quickly as possible.
"This is what we will be looking to do going into the game. But we are really looking forward to it, it's a massive game and Molineux under the lights is fantastic for us."
City have been in good form of late after dropping points before the March international break. They boast the best record over the last six Premier League games, having picked up 16 points from a possible 18.
After being knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by Real Madrid, City can only win the Premier League after missing out on the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. They can control their own destiny in the top-flight as City look to lift the title for the fourth time in five seasons with West Ham United and Aston Villa to come in their final two fixtures.
