Liverpool are being linked with a surprise move for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
With the summer transfer window nearing, the Reds are continuing to be credited with an interest in potential new signings. The likes of Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Josko Gvardiol are three of the main names who are dominating the Liverpool rumour mill.
But now another name has surfaced over the weekend. This time it relates to Southampton’s club captain.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are one of a host of clubs who are interested in signing Ward Prowse this summer. It has been claimed that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the 28-year-old in action this season.
As well as Jurgen Klopp's side, fellow Premier League duo Manchester United and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in signing Ward-Prowse. The report states that the England international is likely to leave St Mary’s should Southampton be relegated to the Championship.
In terms of a potential fee, the report states that Ward-Prowse is valued at around £40m. Southampton are currently bottom of the Premier League and two points adrift of safety with 10 fixtures left to play.
