Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko has promised to issue a decision over his future amid transfer links with Manchester United and Liverpool.
The young striker has caught the eye with the Bundesliga giants over recent seasons having made his debut during the 2020/21 campaign. He has gone on to play a full role within the first-team at the Westfalenstadion - his performances in particular this season having cranked up a notch.
The 17-year-old has scored six goals and notched four assists in all competitions this season. His form has been good enough to see him earn a place in the Germany squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Despite seemingly having another goalscoring star on their hands, Moukoko’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season. Liverpool and United have been credited with an interest and could take advantage of his expiring deal.
Speaking ahead of Germany’s World Cup opener against Japan, the striker was asked about his decision. He suggested he was happy with life with his current club but did hint that a decision was forthcoming.
He said: "I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I can feel the coach's [Edin Terzic] trust. In the end you'll find out whether I'm staying or not."

Germany team-mate Manuel Neuer then attempted to have his say on things as he leaned over during the press conference and said: "Come to Bayern,” to which Moukoko afforded a smile in response.
Away from his transfer call, the striker has certainly garnered plenty of praise for his early displays. None other than his Dortmund predecessor Erling Haaland has already revealed that he is a big fan and has predicted big things for the youngster.
Speaking after the striker’s Dortmund debut, the Norwegian said: "I'm really happy for Youssoufa. I'd really like to play with him sometime.
“I think he's one of the biggest talents in the world right now. He's only 16 years and one day old, and he's playing fantastically. He has a great career ahead of him.”
He continued: "[Youssoufa] is very powerful and skillful. He is already at one of the top clubs for improving his game. The club gives you a chance to play. It does not matter what age you are."
It remains to be seen how much of a role Moukoko will play at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. Should he have an impact, interest in his services will only increase - none least from Old Trafford. The Red Devils could potentially be on the lookout for a forward as soon as January due to severe doubts of Cristiano Ronaldo ’s future following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
