Liverpool and Man City dominate PFA Premier League Team of the Year

Champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool make up nine players in the PFA Premier League team of the year.

Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger and Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo make up the final two slots. There is no room for Golden Boot winner Heung-min Son or Tottenham team-mate Harry Kane.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, who shared the Golden Glove with City’s Ederson, gets the nod in goal, behind Rudiger and Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk in central defence and full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo.

Premier League player of the season Kevin De Bruyne makes up a midfield three with City team-mate Bernardo Silva and Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara.

PFA Players’ Player of the Year Mohamed Salah lines up in a fearsome front three with Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane and Ronaldo.

Salah, Cancelo and De Bruyne retain their spots from last season. Tottenham pair Son and Kane made last year’s XI but both miss out this year.
