UPDATE: Australian man James O'Flaherty among 10 killed in Ireland service station blast
James O'Flaherty, 48, from Sydney, died in the blast that levelled the service station's building.
Mr O'Flaherty, who lived in Rinclevan, Dunfanaghy, will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
Ireland's police force, An Garda Síochána, released the names and photos of all 10 people killed.
The youngest victim is aged five years old and the oldest 59.

UPDATE: 16-year-old charged after crash kills two teenage girls
A 16-year-old boy has been charged over a car crash that killed two teenage girls in Canberra over the weekend.
A passer-by found the wreck in Hume and alerted emergency services who found two girls, aged 14 and 15, dead in the car about 8:10am.
Police allege a 16-year-old boy was the driver of the car and that he fled the scene of the accident.

Venezuela's VP says 22 dead, more than 50 missing in landslide
A landslide in central Venezuela has left at least 22 people dead and more than 50 missing after heavy rains caused a river to overflow, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez says:
"We are seeing very significant damage here, human losses: so far, we have already found 22 dead, there are more than 52 people missing," he told local media.
"We are working to find these people."
The downpour swept large tree trunks and debris from surrounding mountains into the community of Tejerias, which is 67 kilometres southwest of Caracas.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores 700th club goal of his career
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored the 700th club goal of his career after coming on as a substitute for Manchester United against Everton in the Premier League.
The 37-year-old Portugal striker latched onto a through-ball from Casemiro and slotted a finish under Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the 44th minute.
It was his 144th goal for United across two spells at the club. He also netted 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus and five for Sporting.

Tiny Irish town 'severely impacted' after petrol station explosion
Irish police have also released more details of the 10 people — four men, three women, two teenagers and a five-year-old, who died in the blast.
One man remains in a serious condition, and seven others have less severe injuries.
The blast levelled the petrol station building, which also houses the main shop and post office for the village, and damaged nearby buildings and homes.
Superintendent Liam Geraghty says the tiny town has been rocked by incident:
"They are all local people. They are all very much involved in the community. They were all people shopping in their local shop. We have very very young children. The schools are going to be impacted. The GA clubs are going to be impacted, the local church and in general the community is going to be severely impacted by this incident."

Australian killed in Irish petrol station explosion
An Australian national is among those killed in a blast at a petrol station in Ireland.
Ten people died in the explosion on Friday afternoon local time, in the small village of Creeslough — the dead include two teenagers and a primary school-aged girl.
All victims — including the Australian — were residents of the village or surrounding areas.
Police say they're investigating the cause of the blast, with evidence pointing towards "a tragic accident".

Kanye West's social media locked after antisemitic posts
US rapper Kanye West has reportedly been locked out of Twitter and Instagram after a series of antisemitic posts.
American broadcaster NBC News says Instagram blocked his account after West suggested the rapper Diddy was controlled by Jewish people.
West then took to Twitter to continue his slur, with BuzzFeed News reporting it, too, blocked him for violating the firm's policies.
Last week, German sporting goods maker Adidas said it put its partnership with West under review, after he wore a "White Lives Matter" t-shirt during Paris Fashion Week.

Gillard: 'Wouldn't expect' apology from Tony Abbott
Ten years on from the famous "not now, not ever" misogyny speech by former PM Julia Gillard, she was speaking to Radio National's Patricia Karvelas this morning, who asked if Tony Abbott had ever apologised:
Gillard: "No and I wouldn't expect that... We (former PMs) don't all go and retire to a cubby house together; we get on with our lives."
PK: Would you like an apology?
Gillard: "Look, it's the past."
Ms Gillard had risen to her feet that day in response to a motion from Mr Abbott accusing the government of sexism and misogyny because of its decision to install, and later not remove, speakerPeter Slipper.

Ms Gillard said this morning she wants to "look forward" and she does "genuinely believe it will be better for the next woman" in the role.

No charges for Melbourne Picasso protesters so far
Police are yet to charge anyone after protesters glued themselves to a Picasso painting at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne yesterday.
A 59-year-old Victorian man and a 49-year-old New South Wales woman first glued their hands to the painting shortly before 12.30pm on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the gallery says the work was not damaged.

Omicron-specific booster available from today
Want that next COVID booster? Australians aged over 18 can get Moderna's Omicron from today — but if you've already had a third or fourth dose, you won't need it.
Unlike previous shots, the new Moderna vaccine contains spike protein blueprints for the original COVID strain, and the Omicron BA1 variant.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation recommends it be administered at least three months after a previous COVID vaccine or infection.

England beats Australia in T20 International, but we're not going down without a fight
Australia has suffered a narrow eight-run loss to England in the T20 International against England, but David Warner says they're still primed to defend their world cup title.
England began strongly with openers Alex Hales and Jos Butler putting on 138 without loss, as the visitors set Australia 209 to win.
David Warner gave Australia early hope when he scored 73 off 44 balls.
He's told ABC Sport his game is in a good place.
"It's about playing back to back games I think, you look at the last seven or eight years, you play one game here then you're resting because we've got so much cricket on, when you're playing probably ten or fifteen games in a row, you get momentum and that's all about that consistency, and I've never doubted my form."

Marles: 'Waste' in Defence 'must come to a stop'
Major Defence projects are running a cumulative 97 years late (and billions of dollars over budget) according to new government figures, the ABC's Andrew Greene reports.
And Defence Minister Richard Marles was just on ABC's Radio National, saying there must be "quality spending" going forward.
"The waste that we've seen in defence must come to a stop," he said.
And presenter Patricia Karvelas asked him about *those* stage three tax cuts and he said:
"Our position has not changed since the election... we've been making a point that the budget is under pressure."

An apology from CNN over Thailand massacre story
CNN has pulled a story on the massacre of Thai children and apologized after criticism its journalists entered the daycare centre and filmed the crime scene without permission.
The two CNN journalists involved were fined after authorities found that they had been working in the country after entering on tourist visas, but cleared of wrongdoing for entering the day care centre where more than 20 children were killed, deputy national police chief Surachate Hakparn said.
The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand said it was “dismayed” by CNN’s coverage:
"This was unprofessional and a serious breach of journalistic ethics in crime reporting."

Death toll in Nigeria boat capsize tragedy rises to 76
The vessel capsized on Friday amid heavy flooding in the Ogbaru area of Anambra, according to officials, when they said at least 10 people had died and 60 were missing.
President Muhammadu Buhari has now confirmed the higher death toll.
He said authorities are working to rescue or recover missing passengers.

ASX tipped to have a bad start
The Australian sharemarket is on track to open almost one per cent lower later this morning, after more steep falls on Wall Street at the weekend.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 2.1% lower.
The S&P 500 fell 2.8%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq plunged to close 3.8% weaker.
Oil continues to rise, with Brent crude higher at $97.92 a barrel.

Another big wet weather system on the way for NSW, Victoria
Rain easing where you are? That'll be shortlived for some with authorities warning another "big wet" is coming this week.
NSW Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke has warned the threat of flooding is still serious, with more rain falling across already soaked and flooded catchments:
"In remote NSW they'll be on edge for the next few days while we await another big system to arrive on Wednesday through to Friday," she said.
Multiple evacuation orders were issued yesterday across Sydney's Hawkesbury region and parts of the State's central west and Riverina regions.
In Victoria, bureau forecaster Keris Arndt said the incoming rain there is "likely to exacerbate things further":
"The ground is very wet, the rivers are running very high already, and any new rainfall is likely to result in some potentially some pretty big river rises so we will be watching it closely towards the end of the week."

One thing to know now: Putin calls bridge attack 'terrorism', Russia blames truck bomb
Vladimir Putin has called an attack on a key bridge a "terrorist act" carried out by Ukraine's special services.
Here's what the Russian leader said:
"There is no doubt. This is an act of terrorism aimed at destroying critically important civilian infrastructure," Putin said in a video on the Kremlin's Telegram channel.
"This was devised, carried out and ordered by the Ukrainian special services."
Russian authorities are saying it was a truck bomb that hit the huge bridge linking Russia with the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow annexed eight years ago from Ukraine.

More news while you snoozed: 12 dead in Russian missile strike
Also in Ukraine, officials there have revealed the death toll from a Russian missile strike on the southern city of Zaporizhzhia — at least 12 people were killed.
And a powerline supplying the Russian-occupied nuclear power plant there (the biggest in Europe) has been restored according to the UN's nuclear watchdog.
The plant had switched to diesel power.
