List of worst passwords exposed as people urged to 'do better'

With people having so many accounts for the likes of email, apps and streaming services, it's easy to understand why they might choose convenience over security. Today is World Password Day and to mark the occasion the UK's most common phrases have been exposed to show people if their security isn’t up to scratch.

Incredibly, it appears that plenty of us are still using ludicrously simple codes including the word 'password' and number '123456'. That, the Mirror reports, makes things ludicrously easy for cyber thieves to crack and possibly access personal data.

With World Password Day aimed at highlighting issues, the team at NordPass say they have studied what passwords UK web users are inputting every day and have come up with the top 20 list of the most popular combinations.
