In the first quarter of Monday Night Football’s matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, we were given a sobering reminder of how brutal this game can be.
Bills safety Damar Hamlin suddenly collapsed after making a tackle and went into cardiac arrest. He was given CPR right there on the field before being taken away by an ambulance.
While his teammates watched the scene unfold before their eyes, many of us did too via the broadcast. Several Detroit Lions players posted their thoughts and well wishes on Twitter in support of Hamlin.

The wave of support from Lions players and players from all around the league is a great reminder that this is much more than just a sport and these men aren’t just rivals on a field.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Damar Hamlin, his loved ones and the entire Bills organization.
