Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami are reportedly on the cusp of agreeing a deal with football icon and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi.
Those at the top of the Inter Miami hierarchy are said to be confident that Messi will put pen to paper on the deal after Argentina's World Cup campaign in Qatar is complete. The 35-year-old would not make the move to the Miami franchise, which is co-owned by David Beckham, until the end of the European season.
If all goes to plan, the deal would see Messi become the highest-paid player in MLS history, as per The Times. The same report claims Inter Miami are keen on building the side around the Argentine and as a result want to recruit two of his former Barcelona team-mates in Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez.
