A lion whose blonde fringe has given him an uncanny likeness to Jay from British sitcom The Inbetweeners has become a star attraction at a zoo.
The male lion, named Hang Hang, was seen sporting the fancy hairdo after high humidity made his golden locks limp and droopy.
According to zookeepers, the unusual do was created when the lion licked his paws like a cat then brushed his hair.
The result was his unusually straightened look, which bore a likeness to the style sported by The Inbetweeners star Jay Cartwright, one of the four pals who attends Rudge Park Comprehensive along with Will, Simon and Neil.
He is played in the show by actor James Buckley.
He became an instant hit after his full-fringe hairstyle was spotted by visitors to the Guangzhou Zoo in China on May 29.
Temperatures had risen to 32C with 89 per cent humidity.
His fluffy flattened mane gave him the look of a seasoned fashionista with ironed out hair.
Some of his visitors thought the lion's hair was cut that way but zoo staff said it natural.
A zoo spokesman said: 'The hair style was purely nature's magic.
“We wouldn't dare cut the lion's hair.
“He looked like a blonde supermodel with fringe because of the high humidity in Guangzhou."
The caretaker added that the lion attracted visitors to the zoo after pictures of his stylish "haircut" spread.
They said: "He's the most beautiful boy here now, and more people are coming to see him."
Experts observed that Asia's weather has been hitting extremes this year.
In China, Guangzhou recorded its coldest temperature of just 13.7C on May 3, which went up to an average of 32C in only three weeks.
The dramatically changing temperatures came about as neighbouring countries experienced intense heatwaves in India and Pakistan.
