LinkedIn Quietly Kills Its Own AI Writing Tool as 1 Million Users Flag Others' Posts as AI Slop

LinkedIn has killed its own AI writing tool at the same moment its new 'seems like AI slop' button passed one million flags, and the platform will now privately warn posters when readers think their words were machine-made.

The reporting button, added to the three-dot menu on 30 July, was used more than one million times in its first two weeks, according to LinkedIn chief product officer Hari Srinivasan. He said content the company classifies as AI slop is now getting 40% fewer views than it did a few weeks earlier.
