The Lindsay Lohan renaissance is upon us, and it’s all thanks to her delightful foray into cheesy AF and frankly bonkers Netflix Christmas movies.
After a few years of flying under the radar, Lindsay has embraced her inner rom-com queen with a series of festive films on Netflix. Starting with Falling for Christmas in 2022, she’s since starred in Irish Wish and is now gearing up for Our Little Secret, which drops on November 27. In the immortal words of Cady Heron, it seems like “the limit does not exist” when it comes to Lindsay Lohan’s Christmas movie domination.
Lindsay even made a cameo in fellow Mean Girls alum, Lacey Chambert‘s, Netflix rom-com Hot Frosty. Peep the tea here:
In Our Little Secret, Lindsay plays Avery, who finds herself in the awkward position of spending Christmas with her ex-boyfriend after discovering their new partners are siblings. I’m ashamed to admit that when I first heard of the movie I thought the leads were siblings falling for each other, so I’d just like to clarify that is NOT the case. It is not that type of movie.
But seriously, it’s Lindsay’s charm that makes it special. As part of the press for the new movie, I just had to ask her if she’s aiming to become the ‘Queen of Christmas’.
“I mean, I’m not aiming for that, but I love Christmas, and I love making movies. So it might happen,” she told PEDESTRIAN.TV, and we love a humble queen, but honestly, who wouldn’t want to crown her?
The cast is also a delightful mix of familiar faces, including Ian Harding (yes, Ezra from Pretty Little Liars — swoon) and the icon that is Kristin Chenoweth (yes, OG Glinda The Good Witch). I’m a sucker for any rom-com, TBH, but with such talent on board, it’s hard not to get excited about this holiday romp. Lindsay even noted how special this particular project was, since it was one of her first after the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“Everyone was so excited to be filming again…the energy was just there, and it was all positive,” she told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
The renaissance seems to continue next year as Lindsay is set to join Jamie Lee Curtis in the highly anticipated sequel to Freaky Friday, aptly titled Freakier Friday. In a sea of sequels and remakes, this is one I’m actually looking forward to.
Anywho, it looks like Lindsay is here to sleigh (apologies, I had to), and I’m so here for it! Between you and me, Mariah Carey might just have some competition for the title of Christmas Queen — but do not tell her I said that, seriously.
You can watch Lindsay’s latest Christmas movie Our Little Secret, available from November 27 on Netflix.
