Linda Nolan's family have confirmed today that the singer has not passed away following rumours circulating online.
Linda announced that her cancer had spread to her brain in March, and while she said at the time that there "isn't much help for brain cancer" the 64-year-old is currently undergoing radiotherapy treatment.
But today, a post began to circulate on Twitter from a fan who said they were sad to read that 'Linda had passed away' and tributes to the musician began to flood in.
However, the news was not true and the family responded, saying that Linda is very much still alive.
The Official Nolan Twitter page shared the post and wrote: "Just over 20 minutes since this was tweeted and the sheer volume of calls we’ve received because of this. Linda Nolan is absolutely NOT dead."
Speaking on GMB back in March about her cancer, Linda said: "I just want people to know that’s the situation."
"I’m positive, I’m not giving up."
Linda revealed she’s going to end up losing her hair for a fourth time, but laughed, telling viewers that one of her sisters pointed out she has nice wigs following her previous treatment.
"But there is a new drug, which has been in use for a year, for brain cancer, and we're going to try me on that as a chemo drug with some other treatments.
"As usual, my amazing family – I’m back living with my sister Denise and her partner Tom and Maureen has been looking after me for the last two weeks, just with balance issues, getting everything," she continued.
"I've bought a wheelchair, we're getting stuff ready for the inevitable really. It's a scary trip to be on this one."
