The town of Boston has been left in 'devastation' after a nine-year-old girl was stabbed to death. Over the Nottinghamshire border, Lincolnshire Police launched a murder investigation into the tragedy.
Flowers have been left at the scene following the incident in Fountain Lane. Boston Borough Council leader Paul Skinner said the authority was "devastated to learn of this very sad and tragic incident".
"We can’t for one second imagine the pain the family and the young girl’s friends are feeling and our heartfelt condolences go out to them," he added. The incident was reported to the police at around 6.20pm on Thursday (July 28).
