Lil Wayne reveals memory loss means he can’t remember his own music

US rapper Lil Wayne has shared his frustration at suffering from memory loss.

The A Milli hit-maker, 40, has released 13 albums since 1999 with his 14th entitled Tha Carter VI, set to drop this year.

He has confessed however that his earlier albums, which include Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II and Tha Carter IV, hold “no significance” to him as he can’t remember them.

Speaking in a new interview with Rolling Stone, he lamented: “And that’s just my God’s honest truth. You could lie, you could ask me [about] such and such song, I wouldn’t even know what we talking about.”

The musician, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr, continued: “I don’t even know if [2008’s] when Tha Carter III came out. That’s how much I don’t know.

“Also, I always look at it as part of the gift and the curse. I believe that [God] blessed me with this amazing mind, but would not give [me] an amazing memory to remember this amazing s***.”

His remarks come after he ended a show after just 30 minutes last year after allegedly growing frustrated when he didn’t feel a crowd was responding enthusiastically enough.

Lil Wayne was performing in Los Angeles, California for the final date of his Welcome To Tha Carter tour when he cut the event short, despite allegedly arriving on stage over an hour after his scheduled start time.

After reportedly leaving the stage, he then returned to address the crowd, saying: “We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks.

“We work too hard for this s***. We work way too hard.”

He and his fellow performers then left the stage and the house lights went up signalling for everyone to leave.
