Lil Wayne has high hopes for the Golden State Warriors this season. The Hip-Hop superstar believes Steph Curry can lead his team back to the NBA Finals, especially after the off-season additions made by Mike Dunleavy. Golden State is only one year removed from winning a championship and still has their All-Star core intact.
Chris Paul will also play a big part in any success the franchise has this season. The veteran point guard is known for elevating his team to new levels, which is a scary proposition for anyone who’s followed Golden State throughout their dynasty.
“When you count Steph out, it’s like how you used to feel when you count Brady out,” Lil Wayne said when asked his opinion on who makes this years NBA Finals. “In them Patriot years where you just thought that they not gonna win, and then they’d be in the fu*king Super Bowl. That’s how it be feeling about Steph. Every time I’m ready to say, ‘Yeah, Steph’s starting to get old,’ That boy be right there in the Finals.”
Wayne’s prediction will appease Golden State fans who have spent the summer wondering how the franchise will adapt to a guard-heavy rotation. However, the third-year leaps from Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga have ensured the Warriors bench is versatile and robust enough to withstand the pressure of a deep playoff run. Both young players look ready to take another step up in the rotation.

Still, there is a long time before the Warriors or any other NBA team can begin preparing for the playoffs. For now, their focus will be firmly on their upcoming opponents and maximizing the talent at their disposal.
