The Tennessee Titans once again made one thing very clear during their Week 11 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars that dropped them to 3-7 on the season: this team stinks.
The Titans showed no life on either side of the ball once again. The offense failed in every facet and the defense provided no resistance through the air thanks to a no-show from the pass-rush and secondary.
But Tennessee’s struggles aren’t just about a lack of talent. This team is also shooting itself in the foot in several ways, and Tennessee had self-inflicted wounds in all three phases on Sunday, with a turnover on offense and special teams, and bad penalties on offense and defense.
The 2023 Titans are cooked, plain and simple, but fans already knew that.
Now, the focus is how high of a pick this dreadful team can get ahead of an offseason where major changes are needed just about everywhere.

Instant analysis: Offense
-Will Levis once again had to overcome bad pass protection, but he didn’t help himself by holding the ball for too long in some instances and he made a few dangerous throws that almost got picked off. His highlight of the day came on a beautiful 43-yard touchdown strike to DeAndre Hopkins. It remains difficult to fully evaluate Levis with the disaster in front of him.
-The offensive line stunk in pass protection and run-blocking once again. Aaron Brewer had a pair of bad snaps, one of which Levis couldn’t handle that led to a turnover and Jags points.
-The Titans were 2-7 on third downs and were successful on their lone trip to the red zone. They finished with just 235 yards of total offense.
Instant analysis: Defense
-Tell me if you’ve heard this before: the pass-rush was non-existent and the secondary was useless in coverage in the short, intermediate and deep parts of the field. Kristian Fulton and Roger McCreary both had bad games on the outside. So much for Fulton moving in the right direction. Tennessee had issues setting the edge and allowed Trevor Lawrence to escape for a pair of touchdowns runs.
-Jacksonville ran for 128 yards at 3.6 yards per carry. The Titans had issues setting the edge, which allowed Trevor Lawrence to run for a pair of touchdowns.
-How about some self-infliced wounds? McCreary had a pair of pass interferences on third downs. Harold Landry was also flagged for offside on another third down. The Jags scored on all three drives (one touchdown, two field goals).
-Jacksonville gained 389 yards of total offense and were 3-5 in the red zone.
Instant analysis: Special teams
-Completing the trifecta, the Titans had a self-inflicted wound on special teams, also, when cornerback Eric Garror fumbled a punt return in the fourth quarter.
-Nick Folk didn’t attempt a single field goal. He was 2-2 on extra points.
-Ryan Stonehouse averaged 53.5 yards per punt (long of 73) and dropped two inside the 20.

RT Chris Hubbard (elbow): Hubbard went to the locker room in the second quarter. He did not return and was replaced by Jaelyn Duncan.
S K’Von Wallace (concussion): Wallace exited in the third quarter and did not return.

As if you didn’t know this already, the Titans’ season is over. There is simply no way this team is going on any kind of run. Now at 3-7 and still in the cellar of the AFC South, the Titans will host the lowly Panthers next week.
