Liel Abada’s Celtic form is reportedly attracting interest from the English Premier League.
The Israeli winger played 90 minutes as Celtic re-established their nine point lead over Rangers at the top of the Premiership table with a 2-1 win over Livingston. Abada thought he’d made the points safe with a late third for the Hoops, but a VAR check ruled out his goal for offside, having set up their first two. The 21-year-old wide man has impressed since arriving in the summer of 2021 from Maccabi Peta Tikva and has chipped in with some big goals, especially in Old Firm clashes.
Now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that English top flight clubs are sniffing around Abada. With Champions League experience now under his belt, the player has added another string to his bow which the big guns down south find appealing. He’s scored 24 times for Celtic since joining up with the Hoops, with many coming from late runs to the back post which have become a feature of his game.
However, any clubs hoping to prise him away from Glasgow will have to stump up some serious cash. Abada’s contract at Parkhead runs until 2026 and the champions are dead set on keeping him long term, and are likely to rebuff any offers that come their way, not just when the transfer window opens next month, but in the summer as well.
