Lidl recalls two fish products over fears they could have bacteria that cause serious infections

Lidl is recalling two fish items over health fears and is urging customers not to eat the products.

The supermarket and the Food Standards Agency have issued warnings over Deluxe Oak Smoked Scottish Louch Trout and Lighthouse Bay Smoked Trout Trimmings, produced by St James Smokehouse. These products are being recalled because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Symptoms caused by this bacteria can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.
