Liam Payne's second album has reportedly been put “on hold” after the star was hit by another career blow.
The former One Direction member released Teardrops, the first single from his second album, in March, but the track failed to chart.
And now, plans for the 31-year-old’s album have since stalled, according to The Sun after the singer parted ways with his manager.
“Things are tough for Liam at the moment. His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year,” a source told the outlet.
“He was a steady hand for Liam and he appears to be struggling without his guidance. Things have started to seem slightly erratic, with plans being made before they are cancelled last minute.
“Liam had been doing really well on his second album but now it's completely on pause. Liam is telling people now he has no idea if it'll ever be released.”
The Standard has contacted Liam Payne’s rep for comment.
In February, Payne sparked concern when he shared a clip of himself breaking down in tears as he prepared to release single, Teardrops.
Captioning the clip on TikTok, Payne said: “There were definitely a lot of teardrops shed in making these records and for the first time you really get a picture of what it was like for me each day of making this record.
“This album literally is that whole last year for me. How I was feeling on those days is each record. It was a snapshot of that day.
“So you can even help someone through a tough time, help somebody celebrate something.
“That's really what I want to get across in this record and that's the best part I guess about my job.”

Prior to sharing the video, Payne shared another clip of his upcoming single - which is an emotional ballad - to Instagram, saying it was “born from many tears.”
Underneath the clip in the caption, he wrote: “A song born from many (tear emoji) some mine some not.”
Lyrics of the single include: “Teardrops are falling down your face again, cos I don't know how to love you and I am broken too.”
Aside from music, Payne hit the headlines recently after his ex-fiancée Maya Henry identified the One Direction bandmate who allegedly threw him against a wall.
In 2022, the British star revealed he had a physical altercation with one of his bandmates during a heated exchange, though he chose not to reveal who it was.
Speaking on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast at the time, he talked about his reputation for “not taking s**t”, which sometimes led to tension.
He shared: ‘There was an argument backstage and one member, in particular, threw me up a wall.
“So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again’.”
Fans have long speculated whether the bandmate involved was Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan,Zayn Malik, orHarry Styles. Now, Payne’s ex-girlfriend has claimed it was Malik.
