Washington: A research team has demonstrated that Lewy disease can be detected before symptoms appear using a spinal fluid test. The findings were published in Nature Medicine, where the researchers also show that a reduced sense of smell is strongly linked to Lewy body disease even before other obvious symptoms appear. The findings were also presented concurrently at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference.
