Lewis Hamilton was left stumped by Ted Kravitz after he was asked about his invite to King Charles' Coronation.
The UK will come together to celebrate King Charles this weekend as the latest monarch is formally announced. Hamilton, who was knighted by the then Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle, is one of Formula One's rare Sirs and was quizzed on whether he received invite to the Coronation.
Hamilton's focus is on matters in Miami as he aims to secure a first win of the season, with his last victory coming back in 2021. He will be keeping tabs on matters in his homeland however but joked that he hadn't checked his inbox or mail to see if an invite came his way.
Responding to Kravitz's question, he told Sky Sports: "I have no idea, I don't see my mail. I've not seen my mail in years, I don't know, if I did or I didn't - it is okay. I'm going to have it live on my phone whilst I'm mid-engineering."
The Coronation will take place throughout Saturday and Sunday with Monday then becoming a bank holiday. Westminster Abbey is the venue for the ceremony before several members of the Royal Family head back to Buckingham Palace, where they will take their places on the balcony.
Hamilton's mindset though will be on matters on track in Florida as the grid heads to Miami for just the second time. It will be the first of three races in America and Mercedes are hoping to improve their own pace having picked up just one podium in the opening four races.
The Brit said: "Ultimately you always want more downforce and more power - or less drag. I think a calmer car to drive is what I'm looking for in my set up, it is quite unpredictable. I think we're going in the right direction, there's a great mindset right now and there's a great energy within the tea and I'm certain we'll get there in the near future."
His team-mate George Russell has continued his spat with Max Verstappen after the pair collided on track last time out in Baku. The Red Bull man was angered by the lack of space he was left but Russell was less than impressed by his reaction.
He said: "He's had his fair share of giving moves like that and being tough and hard at racing and it's a little bit poor to see how he sort of spat his dummy out when it was the first time he probably got something back in the same regard."
