Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson has hinted he could be ready to leave Pittodrie this summer.
The 22-year-old is contracted to the club for another two years but had an unsettling summer last year after the Dons knocked back bids from Watford.
Ferguson handed in a written transfer request as his frustration grew before knuckling down for another term at Aberdeen.
However, it would appear a move could be on the cards now.
Asked if he knew where he would be next season, Ferguson said: “No. Not at the moment.
“I’m hoping to get into the Scotland squad.
“In terms of my future, we’ll just have to wait and see. I have had a few chats with the manager in the past couple of weeks.
“I don’t know anything yet. I’ve got to wait and see what happens in the summer and see where it takes me.
“I still feel the same way as last summer. It’s difficult to go through it when that is all surrounding you.
“It is honestly so hard for about a month or two and my head wasn’t in the right place.
“It’s a difficult one to go through and I really don’t want to go through that sort of situation again.”
Uppermost in the midfielder’s mind is being able to further ambitions on the international stage.
He has three caps for Scotland and started his first game under Steve Clarke against Austria in Vienna back in March.
Making sure he is part of the manager’s plans for the set-up ahead of next month’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine is crucial.
He said: “That’s been my aim since the last camp.
“I want to push to try to get into the squad.
“There are loads of massive games coming up and the chance to get to the World Cup.”
