Lewis Capaldi 'snuck through car park' for hilarious ASOS collaboration shoppers love

It’s not every day a chart-topping, Brit-winning, Grammy-nominated pop star finds themselves modelling for a popular online fashion brand. But Lewis Capaldi has never particularly been your average, conventional artist.

Earlier this month, the singer was snuck through a car park and up to tha ASOS offices to creative-direct a shoot, and ended up appearing in it himself. And the results have practically broken the internet.

Lewis, who ASOS have dubbed the ‘Scottish Beyoncé’ has become the star of their latest fashion edit, featuring eight handpicked pieces from the fashion brands’ men and women collections.

The Someone You Loved artist shared a video on Instagram last week captioned: “Got a new gig as ASOS’ Creative Director because I’m finally being recognised for the fashion icon I am.” The clip shared a hilarious behind the scenes look at his time at ASOS HQ.

In the video, Lewis was snuck into the offices where he picked out some ‘sexy chainmail’, and complimented a fluffy grey jacket - neither made the cut for his final edit, but he did show off his directing skills before taking over the modelling himself.

He said: “I’m someone who takes risks with their fashion choices, it’s been well documented… Some of us have got it, some haven’t.”

While Capaldi might be an unlikely choice for a fashion collaboration, fans have absolutely loved seeing the singer featured in the product snaps on the website .

On Instagram, potatohoranxx said: “Who is Lewis Capaldi the singer?? I only know him as the style icon,” while devon314 added: “after you picked out those clothes i was really hoping to see you in that maroon skirt and fluffy coat…dang,” and sharon.murray.980 typed: “YASS fashion guru Lewis Capaldi. Love it!”

Meanwhile, Twitter have been talking about the unusual collaboration, describing it as a ‘wholesome’ campaign.

Haruibo said: “CAN LEWIS CAPALDI GET ANY DREAMIER THAN ASOS MODELLING,” as Notlikeparis wrote: “I’d like to talk about Lewis Capaldi modelling for ASOS and why it makes me so happy.”

_greensick tweeted: “LOOK AT LEWIS CAPALDI IN HIS ASOS CAMPAIGN. THIS IS SO WHOLESOME,” as @duccalaic said: “So tempted to go on an asos shopping spree just cuz of Lewis Capaldi ngl.”

It’s not the first time this year Lewis Capaldi has featured in an unlikely brand partnership , either. The Scottish sweetheart released a range of frozen pizzas available at Tesco, including The Big Sexy Cheesy One, and The Big Sexy Meaty One. They’re priced at £5 each , and feature an illustration of Lewis licking his lips on the front.
