Rival football fans have reacted on social media to the news that Liverpool have completed the singing of Darwin Nunez on Tuesday evening.
The Reds confirmed shortly before 7pm that the Uruguayan has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Anfield for the next six years - subject to international clearance and work permit approval - and see him wear the number 27 shirt, recently vacated by Divock Origi.
The bumper deal sees Liverpool paying a set fee of £64.1million (€75m) for Nunez with a possible £21.3m (€25m) in add-ons, potentially making him the most expensive transfer in the club's history and supporters of other Premier League clubs wasted no time sharing their thoughts on the deal, with many trying to play down Nunez' arrival in England.

Manchester City fan @TyrFutbol Tweeted: "There was more hype for Michael Owen's daughter to go on love island then Darwin Nunez to Liverpool," while fellow Sky Blue @17woid said: "Let it be known that Liverpool wasted 100m on an unproven guy."
Chelsea fan @siantev7 was also unimpressed, Tweeting: "No way Liverpool wasted $130 million on a player that can’t pass and take on players."
Manchester United supporter @DecafUTD wasn't about to miss out on a bit of Nunez criticism either. He Tweeted: "100m on someone that's had only one good season."
However, Benfica follower @amante_D_vinho was sad to see his team's star player leave Lisbon, Tweeting: "Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend."
