Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was handed his senior Argentina debut on Thursday afternoon as they beat Australia 2-0.
The 18-year-old was introduced in the 74th minute of the friendly, coming on in place of Fiorentina's Nicolas Gonzales. The world champions were 2-0 up at that point, with Lionel Messi and German Pezzella on the scoresheet.
Garnacho was called up to the Argentina squad for the first time in March and was set to debut against one of Panama or Curacao, but the teenager suffered heartbreak when an ankle injury against Southampton ruled him out for several weeks.
The Reds star returned to fitness for the final weeks of the Premier League season and was called up again by manager Lionel Scaloni, who took his side to tour Asia.

And in the first of those two games - against Australia in Beijing - he was introduced to the senior side for the first time. His first action was a pass to Lionel Messi, but the winger didn't quite manage to make an impact in the final 20 minutes, albeit in a game that was winding down.
Nevertheless, It was a massive moment for the young Red, and supporters took to social media to share their reaction.
Garnacho could be in line for more minutes when Argentina take on Indonesia in their second friendly on Monday.
