Leslie Jordan bought his first-ever home just weeks before he died in horror car crash

Leslie Jordan celebrated buying his first piece of property just weeks before he died in a tragic car accident in Los Angeles.

The beloved Will and Grace star died on Monday morning at the age of 67 while on his way to work. He suffered a 'medical issue' behind the wheel of his BMW before crashing into a building, his agent confirmed.

Back in August, Leslie had shared a video on Instagram to announce his happiness at buying his first-ever home.

"It's never too late to be happy, y'all. I really did it. I bought my first piece of …………. property," he captioned the post.

The clip shows the American Horror Story actor spinning around the empty apartment as he showed off his balcony view.

"Well, guess where I am. I'm way up in the sky in a new condo that I just bought.

"67 years old and I have my first condo," Leslie said before singing the theme tune to The Jeffersons sitcom.

"Movin’ on up to the East Side, to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Movin’ on up, to the East Side, we finally got a piece of the pie," he sang.

Leslie's heartbroken fans took to the comments section to pay tribute to the star, with one person writing: "Such a happy soul! Love you Leslie! Rest In Peace."

Another said: "You had so many more experiences like this you deserved. I know you’re with your momma now but man we will miss you here."

"He was joy! Rest in piece friend to all," a third fan penned. [sic]

Will & Grace actor Sean Hayes led the celebrity tributes to his beloved co-star, tweeting: "My heart is broken.

"Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with."

Penning his tribute alongside a snap of the two on set, Sean added: "Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him.

"A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend."

Leslie's representatives confirmed his tragic death in a statement to The Mirror.

The spokesperson said: "The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan.

"Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times.

"What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being."

They added: "Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today."
