Wednesday is officially March, 1, and the start of the month that is expected to be the coldest March yet.
Forecasters believe the impact of a Polar Vortex and a Sudden Stratospheric Warming could hit the UK in March. The result would be an Arctic wave which could bring a second coming of the Beast from the East.
Meteorologists have predicted March 2023 to be colder than average with increased chances of snow, frost and fog for parts of the UK. However, experts are confident that it will cause similar disruption like the weather event five years ago.

The 2018 Beast from the East was caused by a large area of high pressure over Scandinavia which provided a feed of cold air all the way from arctic Siberia. The winter storm brought unusually cold temperatures and heavy snowfall and caused £1.2 billion of damage.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Mark Sidaway said: “Although we have had a Sudden Stratospheric Warming event and other drivers pointing towards colder conditions in March, at this stage there is a low probability of having widely disruptive winter weather like that of five years ago in March 2018.
“We are expecting an area of high pressure to become increasingly established in an area toward Greenland. This will allow a northerly flow to feed colder air into at least the northern and eastern half of the UK bringing wintry showers."
On Wednesday, Leeds will see some light rain which will gradually change to overcast by mid morning. Dark cloud cover will last both the day and the night.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Another cloudy day with further light showers moving in off the North Sea, perhaps less frequent than today. Still feeling chilly in the breeze, particularly along the coast. Maximum temperature 8 °C."
