Here are the Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip for Tuesday, November 22.
Leeds United target catches eye of Premier League rival after World Cup opener
Ecuador international and Leeds United summer transfer target Gonzalo Plata has reportedly caught the eye of multiple Premier League sides after his performance in Sunday night's World Cup opener between Ecuador and host nation Qatar.
Plata played all 90 minutes in his country's 2-0 win over Qatar which marked the first time a host nation had ever lost the opening match of a World Cup.
The 22-year-old made his mark on the match with some great runs down the right-wing, playing some great crosses and fantastic cut-ins but was unable to find a goal or assist.
Transfer journalist Dean Jones noted with GiveMeSport that despite Leeds' summer interest, other top-flight teams have started to notice his talents.
"He’s got pace to burn, he’ll mesmerise people with his trickery and he’s got a finish on him as well. Plata is one of those players you could watch for hours on end.
"Newcastle United rate him already but Brighton already have three Ecuadorians so might fancy their chances of adding another if things go well for him in Qatar."
Leeds United among European competition for 'rebel' Serie A midfielder
Leeds United could be in the market for a new midfielder in the January transfer window as they chase the services of isolated Torino striker Sasa Lukic according to Italian outfit Tuttosport.
The Serbian international is part of the 26-man squad for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar and is one of 11 Serie A players included in the national side - but says that after the tournament, he wants to leave the club.
The 26-year-old reportedly rejected a contract extension earlier this year and tried to force a move in the summer transfer window but was unable to, leaving him to be stripped of the captain's armband.
He was frozen out of the squad for a few weeks before coming back and scoring twice in his nine full matches so far this season. Speaking to Bulgarian outlet Sportal last week, Lukic said:
"I have great ambition and I am sure I’ll get where I want whether it’s after the World Cup or in the summer."
