A round-up of the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, December 20.
Leeds United 'remain in talks' to sign Netherlands star Cody Gakpo
Leeds United remain in talks to sign the Netherlands' World Cup star Cody Gakpo. The Mirror claims the Whites haven't given up hope of signing the 23-year-old, who was one of the breakthrough stars in Qatar.
Andrea Radrizzani put his admiration in the public eye, tweeting about his plans to push for Cody Gakpo heading into deadline day in the recent summer window. However, the PSV star would stay in the Eredivisie despite Leeds' admiration.
Gakpo has been the standout performer in the Dutch domestic league and now, following on from a solid World Cup with his country, interest has only increased. Manchester United are said to have the upper hand given Erik ten Hag's exploits back in the Netherlands, while Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Arsenal have also been linked with the versatile forward.
Leeds may struggle to compete financially with the aforementioned sides, but they haven't given up hope according to the report, and remain in contact with Gakpo's representatives.
Leeds United handed possible boost in pursuit of long-term 'target'
Leeds United have been handed a potential boost should they wish to pursue a player linked with the club in the last 12 months, Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin. The 21-year-old has been banished to train with Standard Liege's second team, according to the latest reports, after failing to agree terms over a new deal.
The midfielder was first linked with a move to Elland Road almost 12 months ago, in last year's January transfer window. A move to Elland Road would not materialise, but the young Belgian has continued to impress in his native country.
The news of his demotion to the second-string will come as a potential boost if Leeds are to renew their interest in the upcoming transfer window. However they're set to face competition from a number of sides across Europe.
Leeds United could secure move for next Dusan Vlahovic after striker 'loses patience'
Leeds United could move ahead of a number of clubs in the race to sign up and coming Croatian talent Dion Beljo, according to reports in Germany. Bild, a German media outlet, claim the striker is losing patience with Borussia Monchengladbach over a reported move to the Bundesliga side.
It's believes the Germany side view Beljo as a long-term successor to that of French forward Marcus Thuram, who has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. The French international is widely expected to leave Borussia next summer, with his contract expiring in 2023.
The Bundesliga side reportedly made contact to sign Beljo during the recent summer window, but no move would come to fruition. The 20-year old has scored eight goals and notched two assists in 16 league games for Osijek so far this season.
