Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites issued hands-off warning and Cody Drameh explains loan

Here are the Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip on Saturday, February 11.

Cody Drameh explains Leeds United loan decision

Leeds United youngster Cody Drameh joined Luton Town on loan for the remainder of the season after being limited to just three appearance for the Whites.

Drameh had a handful of options to choose from, with the likes of Cardiff City - who he spent the previous campaign on loan with - also interested in his services for the rest of the season.

And now the 21-year-old has explained his decision to join Luton as he revealed that he will sit down with Leeds at the end of the season to discuss his future at Elland Road.

“There was a lot of interest in me and for me it was just weighing up the best option," Drameh told Luton Today.

"It was just game time for me and choosing the club by the manager, those two things were quite a lot here, so I just chose it by the game time and then Rob Edwards as well. I really want to play and the manager showed he really wanted me to come here, so that’s a nice feeling as a player, that’s what made me come here.

“We had a zoom meeting before I came, and I was quite impressed, he had a presentation and he said how I could fit in at Luton. I looked at the table before coming here and I think that with this style of play, they’re not up there for no reason. So it’s an attractive place to come and it’s a great time to be at the club."

When asked about his future, Drameh insisted that he is just focusing on his loan spell for now and that he will talk to the club at the end of this term.

He added: "I’ll just take it to the end of the season and then I’ve got to have a conversation with the right people and we take it from there.”

Bristol City issue 'hands off' warning to Leeds United

Bristol City starlet Alex Scott is reportedly on the radar of a handful of Premier League clubs. The 19-year-old is believed to be wanted by Leeds, Tottenham and Wolves among others.

The teenager has fast become one of the most sought-after talents in the Championship and Robins' boss Nigel Pearson has now heaped praise on his star, while also reminding those clubs interested in Scott's services that he still has plenty of time left on his current contract.

“He’s just a very unique talent and he’s got a very impressive temperament,” Pearson said (via Bristol World). “I think he’s destined for the very top, but football dictates to you what’s going to happen because you can’t always be in control of your own destiny.

“Alex Scott will, I think, continue to progress and he’ll be a top player. But he also knows that he’s got to do it for us while he’s here, he just enjoys playing football so it's good to have young hungry players at the club as well as senior players who want to continue to perform and get better.”

Pearson was also asked whether the recent speculation on Scott’s future has shown the teenager's mental strength. The Bristol City boss added: “Yes probably, and on top of that, all the modern pitfalls for young players like social media.

“He’s a young man who is driven and wants to be a success, all young men will make mistakes at some point, but what we have to do is give him the framework to be as good as he can be while he’s with us.”

Although there is increasing speculation that Scott will depart the West Country side at some point, Pearson has said he is not going anywhere soon.

He said: “You’ve got to remember that he’s got a contract here for a couple more years yet, for there to be any further speculation about his future, there’s got to be something real happen. He’s our player at the moment.”
