Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Wednesday, April 20.
Whites could 'sound out' Nigerian international
Another striker is sure to be one of Victor Orta's top priorities this summer, as Leeds have struggled badly with Patrick Bamford absent for the majority of the season. They will need to cast the net wide to find a player who can play the role similarly to Bamford, who is the undisputed number nine at Elland Road.
However, they will want a player who can not only back up Bamford, but also provide competition and an option to rotate as the Jesse Marsch looks to rely on a large pool of players than Marcelo Bielsa did. According to journalist, Dean Jones, one player they could look to is Watford's Emmanuel Dennis. Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: "From what I understand, they would much prefer to have somebody who has had a taste of life in England, scoring goals at the top level, so Dennis might be a player they sound out. I don’t think it’s one that’s been mooted yet but, absolutely, that is the level of player that they’re looking at.”
Ross Barkley linked again as midfielder available on free in summer
Leeds have regularly been linked to Ross Barkley in the last season or two as the Whites have been in need of a midfielder and the former England international has been struggling for game-time. However, Leeds have never wanted to take the risk on trying to reignite Barkley's career.
This summer, he will be available on a free transfer and the Boot Room have suggested that Leeds are one of the clubs who might make the player once compared to Paul Gascgoine an offer. Newcastle and Everton are also mooted as possible destinations.
