Here are the Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip on Thursday, December 22.
Leeds United set sights on Dutch World Cup star with 'massive potential'
Leeds United are reportedly ready to 'push on' and bring Dutch winger Noa Lang to Elland Road in January according to transfer journalist Dean Jones.
The 23-year-old, who was part of the Dutch World Cup squad in Qatar earlier this month, was previously linked to the Whites in the summer where Fabrizio Romano confirmed their interest in the star when he wrote for CaughtOffside last month.
"Linked with Leeds United in the summer, Noa Lang has chances to leave in January, but Club Brugge are in very positive moment now and so they’d only sell in case they receive a good proposal.
"There’s still nothing concrete now, too early – asking price has always been around €30-35m (£26-£30m)."
However, new developments have occured and now the Whites are determined to not miss out on another star from the Netherlands after not coaxing PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo to England who has gone on to set the Eredivisie alight with his performances.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: "They want to avoid that disappointment of suffering on someone like Gakpo and missing out on them and then seeing them linked with every big club in Europe, basically, the same thing will happen with Noa Lang.
“He’s got massive potential and is already doing really well, so I would expect them to push on with that soon.”
Agent makes claim that Leeds-linked goalkeeper is 'superior in every way' to World Cup winner Emi Martinez
One of the standout stars of this year's World Cup was Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and Leeds United were one of the first teams to be linked with the 27-year-old.
But one football agent believes he's already better than World Cup and Golden Glove winner Emi Martinez, an incredible claim considering how good the Aston Villa man was across the tournament.
Vincenzo Cavaliere, an agent who represents Croatia stars Andrej Kramaric and Marko Livaja, believes there was no one better in his position throughout the tournament than the Dinamo Zagreb shot-stopper.
“I expected such a World Cup from (RB Leipzig colossus Josko) Gvardiol, but (Celtic’s Josip) Juranovic and Livakovic surprised me,” Cavaliere admitted when he spoke to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.
"Especially the latter. He had an amazing World Cup. Perhaps he deserved the golden glove because, comparing him to Martinez, he has much better statistics.
"The indicators all point to Livakovic. He made 25 saves to Martinez’s seven. He saved more penalties, he was superior in every way."
Leeds United-linked target hits out at 'clown' journalist after contract dispute
Leeds United-linked transfer target Nicolas Raskin has hit out at Les Sports journalist Kevin Sauvage after he tweeted a story about Raskin's contract dispute with Belgian Pro League club Standard Liege.
The 21-year-old has been of reported interest to the Whites and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Liege have decided to try and sell him after Raskin declined to sign a new deal.
Since then, Liege have reportedly demoted Raskin down to their B-team while trying to find offers for him away from the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium.
