The signing of Renan Lodi has made Nottingham Forest fans believe in the "romance of football" again, according to former Reds midfielder David Prutton.
Forest announced the arrival of the Brazilian full-back on loan from Atletico Madrid on Monday. It's the club's 18th signing of the summer transfer window.
Prutton compared the move to Leeds United's signing of Raphinha, another Brazil international, after they secured promotion to the Premier League in 2020.

"When Leeds got back into the Premier League and all of a sudden they bring in someone like Raphinha, or they're talking about how many internationals they've got, and you do shake your head a bit and go wow, they're now talking about Nottingham Forest in those types of terms. A Brazilian left-back!" the Sky Sports pundit told the Garibaldi Red podcast.
"And that kind of thing gets the juices flowing. We're all of a certain age where we used to go 'he's Brazilian? He must be amazing! If he's anything like Roberto Carlos it'd be fantastic!'
"So you get sucked into that. That's the beauty and romance of football. Obviously time will tell how he adapts, but it's a great kind of conversation to be having about Forest."
