Leeds United supporters upbeat after 'confusing' 2-2 draw with Brighton sees Whites battle back

Leeds United supporters have kept the faith that their club can avoid relegation from the Premier League after the Whites drew 2-2 with Brighton at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison saw Leeds battle from 1-0 and 2-1 down respectively during a frantic 90 minutes in West Yorkshire. Roberto De Zerbi's side showed why they are fighting for a Champions League spot after 33 minutes when Alexis Mac Allister headed the ball home unmarked at the far post.

The game appeared to be slipping out of reach for Leeds until a superb strike from Bamford from 20-yards out took a slight deflection before crashing off the bar and going in. The two teams headed down the tunnel level and Javi Gracia's half-time team talk appeared to do the trick as his side started well after the break.

Yet the visitors re-took the lead in the 61st minute after a cross from the ever-dangerous Kaoru Mitoma saw Harrison turn the ball into his own net under pressure from Solly March at the far-post. The Leeds man would more than make amends for his own-goal however just 12 minutes from time.

A short corner from Wilfried Gnonto picked out Harrison on the edge of the box as he curled a sublime finish into the top corner to level the scores once again. Neither side could eventually find a winner as the full-time whistle signalled the end of a breathless second-half.

As the dust settled on what was ultimately another point towards safety Leeds supporters chose to view it in exactly that fashion, rather than as two points dropped, as they took to social media to share their thoughts on the 2-2 draw.
