There was a time when Leeds United fans were hopeful of their chances at landing Dutch star Cody Gakpo.
The Whites were keen followers of the 23-year-old forward this summer, with director of football Victor Orta even flying out to Holland in an attempt to sign Gakpo.
However, no move materialised. Gakpo ended up staying with PSV Eindhoven, with the aim of reassessing his future next summer.
However, there's no doubt that he will be a man in demand, especially after his recent World Cup performances for the Netherlands.
Gakpo has scored three goals in three games for Louis van Gaal's side, with his latest a superb, composed strike against Qatar in the Netherlands final group stage game.
The PSV forward is now attracting plenty of interest from Europe's elite, with Manchester United said to be in pole position to land Gakpo.
And the goal was another reminder of what the Dutchman is capable of, with plenty of Leeds fans taking to social media to lament the Whites missing out on signing him in the summer.
